NRNA South Australia successfully organized an Emergency ready work shop with the help of Redcross Australia.
07 Apr, 2026
NRNA South Australia successfully organized an Emergency Ready Workshop for students of Nepali Pathsala Adelaide and Adelaide Nepali Vidhyalaya in collaboration with both school and Australian Red Cross.
The workshop was thoughtfully designed for both children and parents, focusing on building awareness and practical skills to help families prepare for emergencies and stay safe during challenging situations.
Through the Pillowcase Workshop, children learned how to prepare for, cope with, and respond to emergencies. While children can be vulnerable during disasters, they also possess the strength and ability to support themselves, their families, and their communities. Research shows that educating children about disaster preparedness helps build stronger, more resilient communities, as they share their knowledge at home and encourage preparedness among family members.
What students and parents learned:
• The importance of being prepared for emergencies
• How to manage thoughts and emotions before, during, and after an emergency
• What to include in a personal emergency kit
Pillowcase Workshop details:
• Designed for children aged 8–10
• A 1-hour interactive session
• Engaging discussions and hands-on activities
At the end of the workshop, each student received a pillowcase to decorate and take home, helping them begin their own personal emergency kit in a fun and meaningful way.
Learn. Prepare. Be Ready.
Warm regards
NRNA South Australia.
