Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Australia has awarded the NRN Australia Community Achievement Awards 2007-2009 to outstanding achievers in various categories during 3rd National Conference held in Melbourne, Victoria on July 11, 2009. Nepalese community in Australia has every reason to feel proud of these worthy winners and nominees who were recognised for achieving the pinnacle of success in various fields. NRNA awards are meant to recognise and encourage not only their achievements but also to create role models for our future generations to follow and excel in community services and other areas.
The winners and nominees of different categories are as below.
1. Student of the Years, HSC level (2007-2009)
Winners: Rija Khanal (VIC) and Lani Bajracharya (QLD)
Nominess: Pallav Bilas Bajracharya (NSW), Sambridhi Adhikari (VIC), Rakshya Sharma (NSW) and Edmund Gurung (QLD)
2. Student of the Years, University Level (2007–2009)
Winner: Anjana Chalise Regmi (NSW)
Nominees: Bona Rai (NSW), Najju Ranjit (QLD), Hum Bahadur Gurung (QLD) and Tika Limbu (QLD)
3. Sports Personality of the years, over 18 (2007 – 2009)
Winner:Anil Thapa Magar (NSW)
Nominees: Mrigesh Tamang (NSW), Bishnu Hamal (NSW), Rajiv Pradhan (NSW) and Binam Hona (NSW)
4. Sport Personality of the years, under 18 (2007 - 2009)
Winner: Anupam Shrestha (VIC)

5. Community Service Personality of the years (2007 – 2009)
Winner: Chitra B Tumbahangphe (Limbu)
Nominees: Bindya Subba (NSW), Mahendra Oli (NSW), Narendra Rai (NSW) and Parsuram Sharma Luitel (VIC)
6. Cultural Ambassador of the years (2007 – 2009)
Winner: Dheeraj Shrestha (QLD)
Nominees: Bhoma Limbu (NSW), Bhimsen Gurung (NSW), Bhupendra Chudal (NSW), Subita Rai (VIC) and Hem Limbu (NSW)
7. Non Resident Nepali of the Years, NRN Australia (2007-2009)
Winner: Goba Katuwal (NSW)
Nominees: Bhabani Prasad Oli (NSW) and Raju Shakya (VIC)
8. Friends of Nepal of the years (2007 – 2009
Winners: Christine Gee, Debbie Hollows, John Mellowship, Nick Faar, Sue Chamberline & Rod Setterlund
